LEICESTERSHIRE

Think of Leicestershire and you think of foxhunting, the heart of the English countryside – it is further than any other County from the sea.  The huge County town of Leicester is a real cultural crossroads, with immigrants from every part of the Commonwealth and beyond.  But the County as a whole is still largely agricultural, and there are still plenty of those crafty foxes around, especially now that foxhunting with dogs has been made illegal.
Stilton cheese and Melton Mowbray pork pies – what a lunch, perhaps washed down with a pint of Everard’s Old Tiger beer!
