I have just got this site working again after a year so this is a provisional update. All of the archived information should now be available again, as well as the results of the 2007 Whitehead Cup. Work on the site is ongoing, and information regarding the future of the ECGCF will be published here when it is available.
THERE HAS BEEN NO ECGCF GRAND CUP EVENT IN 2008. IT IS HOPED IT MAY RESTART IN 2009. It is hoped that the U11 Whitehead Cup for 2008 can be held. It will be on a Saturday and preferably in October or November, probably in the Midlands so as to allow access for both Northern and Southern teams. The possible Saturdays would be: 27 Sept - 4 Oct - 11 Oct - 18 Oct - 25 Oct - 1 Nov - 8 Nov - 15 Nov - 22 Nov - 29 Nov - 6 Dec. If any County wishes to 'Veto' one or more of these dates, please let me know by email and I will try to arrange the date to suit as many as possible.
News - Sussex win 2007 Whitehead Cup
Through the good offices of the Sussex junior organisers and in particular Sharon Watkinson, we were able to hold the Whitehead Cup competition in December at an excellent venue in Sussex: the strong home team of Sussex girls were duly successful and won the Whitehead Cup for the County for the first time. News - Surrey take Grand Cup
The ECGCF Grand and Minor Finals were played as one combined event on Saturday 19 May 2007, at St Peter and St Paul School, Syston, Leicestershire. The Surrey team, one player short owing to last minute illness, took the Grand Cup by the slenderest of margins, the scores being 1st, Surrey 12.5/18, 2nd Yorkshire 12, 3rd Oxfordshire 10.5, 4th Lancashire 10, 5th Kent 8, and 6th Lincolnshire 2. Lincolnshire took the Petit Coup. Full details of the event are available below.
