SURREY SWEEP THE BOARD! SCCU Girls Team Event, Northwick Park 6 April 2003

Surrey Girls' teams comprehensively defeated such opposition as was offered in every section of this event.
In the U18, other entrants withdrew so that Surrey had in effect won the trophy before a pawn had been moved. A substitute 3-board Team tournament was played in order to give games to all those attending, and this was won by the Surrey Wey Valley team consisting of Sarah Hegarty, Rachel Peat and Katie Houstoun.
The U11 was an 8-board jamboree played over 3 rounds between six County teams, and the Surrey team captained by Marissa Stenning won easily.
In the U9 there were three County teams each of 4 boards, and a jamboree over 4 rounds again saw Surrey romp home, dropping only two games out of 16.
We have full details of all the Sections below. The U11 is as actually played, even though there appear to be anomalies!
